Foldy Pac™ Nail-less Boxes
Many packaging applications benefit from a non-traditional wood crating solution that minimizes both space and weight. Chick’s nail-less box – the Foldy Pac™ – is remarkably strong, yet light-weight, collapsible and reusable. The Foldy Pac™ is constructed from imported multilayer birch laminate plywood; when combined with chamfered interfaces, galvanized metal corners and galvanized joint fasteners the result is a product that provides the strength of a typical cleated plywood box but is lighter and has a smaller outside dimension. The Foldy Pac™ is typically shipped unassembled which reduces inbound freight and since it does not require nails, staples, banding, tape, adhesives or special equipment it can be quickly assembled anywhere.
The Foldy Pac’s™ lighter weight and smaller volume makes it particularly useful for goods being shipped by air freight. The finished container is not only lighter but can hold up to 30% more payload within the same overall package volume, saving freight cost regardless of whether shipping rates are based on weight or volume. As with traditional wooden boxes, the Foldy Pac™ can be supplemented with pallets or internal structures to meet creative or demanding packaging applications.
One of the most attractive features of the Foldy Pac™ nail-less box is that it can be easily reopened for customs inspection then quickly resealed without damage to the crate or the products . An additional value is the 100% man made materials it is which is fully compliant with all countries ISPM-15 imported material requirements. For products packed for export, this can be a significant benefit.
